TVNZ is offering motorsport fans full and live access to Formula E this Labour Weekend.

The ground-breaking FIA single-seater championship, and the world's first fully-electric racing series will be available for New Zealand viewers on the new TVNZ pop up channel from Saturday 24th October, and through highlights packages (Sunday 25th October) and live streaming on TVNZ OnDemand from Saturday 7th November.

TVNZ Director of Content, Jeff Latch, is happy to provide Formula E access to viewers on-air, online, and is offering highlights on TVNZ OnDemand.

“New Zealanders love the excitement of live sport so we’re delighted to be partnering with Formula E to bring this race series to free to air TV. Live streaming and highlights packages will also be available on TVNZ OnDemand, giving our audiences more opportunities to view on their terms. The deal will build the profile of this exciting new motorsport in our part of the world,” he says.

Formula E represents a vision for the future of the motor industry, and serves as a framework for electric vehicle R&D, promoting clean energy and sustainability. It is a fusion of engineering, technology, sport, science, design, music and entertainment - all combining to drive the change towards an electric future.

The championship sees 10 teams, each with two drivers and two cars racing on temporary city-centre circuits to create a unique and exciting race series designed to appeal to a new generation of motorsport fans.

It’s full on action with Qualifying, all new Super Pole shoot-out and the Race including stints in the pits, involving the drivers switching into a new and fully charged car - even more excitement for the motorsport fan!
